Braves Reject 'Screaming Indian' logo

Summary: In the end, Braves decided to keep their tradition. They leaved the logo as an 'A' as it was. They said they made an decision after a potential design was leaked several weeks ago. The president of Braves said, he thinks he chose the right one and he thinks this was the best choice of them. But one writer said that the Braves withdrew the design because of the furor it caused. It means that the Braves are claiming that they were never committed to the Indian logo cap to begin with. Lukas wrote. He said that the Braves were thinking of the Indian logo until the recent controversy caused them to have second thoughts. That was the reaction for some Americans, especially Native American groups that were highly critical of the screaming Indian logo."What this does is contribute to the casual racism native people are subjected to in our society."said Gover, a member of the Pawnee Nation. Some people twitted that it is not an racism too. 


Related to studies: It relates with the Native Americans. Native Americans have been attacked by Europeans in 1600s. But we cannot attack them again like this. It is an racism and the logo had an problem.


Opinion: I think the Braves decided well enough this time. I think they changed their mind because lots of people said to change it but still, it was a nice decision of them. It shouldn't even come out of the world before. It is an racism of Native Americans. I wish these problems don't appear again.

Atlanta Braves may bring back 'screaming Indian' logo

Summary: Atlanta Braves is a team of Baseball. The cap designer said that he got the idea from industry source. Native American is wearing a mohawk and a heather in his hair with shouting something.The screaming Indian was part of the Braves logo when the team moved to Atlanta from Milwaukee. But was retired few years later. They had also mascot that is wearing Native American dress and a painting of war. Gover, 57, said this will make the stereotype will grow. He also said that this is contributing the casual racism. Many people doesn't like the logo and disagrees with it. One wrote on MLB.com about the logo and he said it is not bad but the red skin is the problem. 

Related to Studies: We are learning about the relationship between Europe, West Africa, and America. This article was about the Native American. Christopher Columbus found the America and named them as Indians. But their name is Native American.In this logo, the Native American is screaming. There are stereotypes of Native Americans. I think the skin of the Native American in the logo has a problem too. Red skin has to be gone. 

Opinion: This logo does have some problems. Atlanta Braves wouldn't make the logo with Black people would they? This is the same problem. Native Americans are not red also. This   does includes the casual racism. In our history, Native Americans had lots of conflicts and I have seen a webtoon about Native Americans and they are having lots of conflicts and problems. The White people attacks Native Americans because they needed land for the train. I don't understand. The land was Native American's territory. They are not suppose to attack them. There is a shelter for the Native Americans now. There are little amount of Native Americans left. So there are lots of stereotypes  of Native American. And the Atlanta Braves just used the logo with red skin of Native American. This is culturally, historically and morally wrong.
